The French town of Chamonix has two marked seasons, in the summer the days are long and warm with occasional thunder storms in the late afternoon, the evenings in can be very humid considering the height the town in the French Alps.
For the tourists who visit Chamonix during the summer season there are a number of activities such as walking, hiking and alpine climbing.
Summer visitors can even play a round of golf at Le-Plaz-De-Chamonix which is set below the French Alps.
More adventurous tourists can get information from a number of local tourist offices.
Visitors can get cable cars which give you easy access to the mountains where you can chose what height you like to walk at whether its high or low walks the choice is yours.
Many visitors choose a relaxing break where you can sit and be member of the Chamonix pavement café society, sipping coffee and soaking up the sun.
The focal point of Chamonix is The Plaze with it’s statute of two of the most famous alpine climbers Mr Jacques Balmat and Dr Michel Gabriel Paccard, these men were the first to ascent Mont Blanc on the 8th August 1786.
