Benidorm Benidorm Beach Benidorm tourist information is pretty scarce on the web at the moment, i recently visited this attractive resort on Spain's Costa Blanca was very impressed with the many facilities on offer.
Benidorm has two great beaches Lavante and Poniente (sunrise and sunset) The highlight of the trip was a visit to benidorm island, legend states that a giant named Roldan kicked the island out of Puig Campana. Roldan created the gap in the mountain because he had been told his wife would die when the sun went down and by creating a great notch in the mountain he could enable her to live just a bit longer. The trip to benidorm island takes about 10 mins and costs 10 euro's, once on the island known locally as Peacock Island, visitors can board a mini submarine and get a great view of marine life through the glass hull.
The restaurant on Peacock island serves good coffee and filled baguettes, being a vegetarian i can highly reccommend the cheese and tomato filling. Another must for tourists is a visit to Mundomar, this excellent attraction cannot be missed, the dolphin and sea-lion shows are fantastic. A word of warning - beware of free scratch cards stating you've won a holiday or video camera, everyone at our apartments were duped and wasted precious holiday time listening to stupid holiday presentations. It is my intention to return to benidorm later this year and write about the great bars and entertainment on offer, I never really fancied benidorm as a a holiday destination, but my visit to this wonderful place has been a real eye opener. These pictures were taken around the middle of November, a local festival going on at the time ended with the most spectacular display of fireworks i have ever seen. Noteable acts on offer in benidorm were Sticky Vicki, Rosie Peters and Misteeque the only female hyopnotist in benidorm.
