Chris Law the SNP Prospective Parliamentary Candidate for Dundee West welcomed a new opinion poll published today from sampling in the constituency which shows a 27% swing from Labour to the SNP in the constituency with the SNP presently standing at 59%.
The Poll by the Lord Ashcroft organisation sampled 16 Scottish constituencies including Dundee West and found 59% support for SNP against 25% for Labour, with the Tories on 6% and Lib Dems on 4%.
Chris Law said: "We welcome the new poll but it is just a poll. It is a useful boost at the start of the campaign but we intend to take nothing for granted and will work hard for every vote in Dundee West.
"Scottish voters have lost faith in Labour. According to the poll,Labour's support in Dundee West has fallen almost by half since 2010.
"The voters of Dundee West want a party that can better represent their aspirations and values.
"I intend to work hard to convince the voters that the SNP is a strong voice for Scotland and Dundee West at Westminster - and that we will keep Westminster's feet to the fire until we get further powers for Scotland, an end to austerity, no replacement of Trident and the protection of our valued public services. "
