Following on from the outstanding success of the event last year, the Garden Of Light returns to Dundee’s Botanic Gardens on 27 and 28 February 2010.
This Light and Sound event transforms the Botanic garden with a vast array of effects lighting and sound to let them be viewed as they’ve never been experienced before!
Visitors will be able to explore the gardens after darkness falls and walk through a new world of illumination whilst listening to specially commissioned music and sound effects brought in from around the world and inspired by the worldwide plant collection.
This years event will be significantly larger than the 2009 event. With over 2kilometers of trail being available to explore, the Garden Of Light will become the largest outdoor light and sound show of its kind in Scotland.
Steve Page, the lighting designer behind the event explains that the show’s primary aim is to raise awareness of the garden.
Although intended as a one-off fundraiser event in 2009, response from the visitors was overwhelmingly positive and we received many requests that we do it again.
Not wanting to simply repeat an identical event, we’ve held onto the aspects that proved so popular last year, but have greatly expanded the amount of the garden that will be open to the public on the night and have increased the amount of lighting dedicated to the show.
The quantity of special effects which proved an attraction for younger visitors has also been increased as has the number of calmer quiet areas where people can simply sit back and watch the changing light display.
Tickets for the event are available on-line through www.scotsm.co.uk, and by telephone to 08717 029 486/span>>/>>/>>/>>/>>/>>/>>/>>/>>/>>/>>/>>/>>/>>/>>/>
