H M Frigate Unicorn is based at Victoria Docks near the centre of town, the
Unicorn is the oldest surviving British built ship still afloat from the golden
age of sail.
The Unicorn carried 46 guns and was designed and built for the Royal Navy at
Chatham Royal Dockyard.
Launched in 1824, the frigate Unicorn went on serve the Royal Navy for over
140 years, the impresssive ship was finally decommissioned in 1968.
H M Frigate Unicorn is open to the public all year, the summer months from
(April-October) and the winter months are between (November-March)

- April-October all week; 10:00hrs-17:00hrs (Summer)
- November-March (Winter)
- Monday-Tuesday-Closed
- Wednesday-Thursday-12:00hrs-16:00hrs
- Saturday-Sunday 10:00hrs-16:00hrs
- Closed over the Festive Period
