H M Frigate Unicorn is based at Victoria Docks near the centre of town and considered to be the best preserved of all historic wooden ships in the world from the golden age of sail.
The Frigate Unicorn was launched in 1824 following the great sea campaign against Napoleon, this was a time of relative peace so the impresssive ship was put into reserve where she remained until being decommissioned in 1968.
The historic ship has a new function and hosts a series of exciting and memorable events, from Burns Suppers in January, Historical re-enactments and Pirate fun days throughout the summer, the unique program of events aboard the frigate ends with the ever popular Christmas Carol Service.
H M Frigate Unicorn is open to the public all year, the summer months from (April-October) and the winter months are between (November-March)

- Saturday-Sunday 10:00hrs-16:00hrs
- Closed over the Festive Period
